POSITION SUMMARY
The Group Sourcing and Analyst Leader will facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and problem resolution of supply chain issues/opportunities with suppliers and monitor suppliers’ performance against contractual obligations, scorecards, and key performance indicators. In addition, responsibilities will include creating and modifying reports to effectively run the supply chain function, analyzing data from various reports to report out trends in support of supply chain leaders in optimizing group and division performance. Provide timely and accurate projections to the Group leadership. Position will directly report to the VP of Supply Chain.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Will initiate and lead vendor management / improvements including evaluating process capability, tracking delivery, output, and reporting of supplier performance. Maintains and builds supplier relationships and robust communication process.
- Works with suppliers to develop and manage continuous improvement programs, addressing quality, delivery, service as well as price. Leads continuous improvement activities and provides suggestions for cost reduction and improved efficiency.
- Provide analytical support by monitoring metrics for the customer, management, and team, while also creating ad hoc analysis as needed.
- Identifies, investigates, and recommends potential suppliers, researching parts, equipment, machinery, services, and materials availability in combination with detailed cost analysis, price justification, and risk assessment of suppliers. Develops alternate sources of supply by identifying and researching prospective suppliers.
- Responsible for evaluating production capability, performance, delivery, and other key business criteria. May complete supplier certification as part of a technical and/or supply chain team.
- Collaborates with the business unit to establish preferred supplier selection criteria based on supplier evaluations of price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance with governmental procurement regulations.
- Develops and benchspans best practices among the Divisions suppliers and maintain accurate measurements and records for evaluation of suppliers.
- Project leadership and support. Play an active and leading role in various cross functional and independent projects through management, analysis, or data development – with the ultimate goal of developing into a collaborative and cooperative team player on an organization-wide level. Accountable for investigating and facilitating low-cost country sourcing.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of the relevant manufacturing, quality or operations support function that would typically be obtained through a Bachelors degree in a manufacturing-related business or technical discipline, and eight or more years of progressive experience within the specialty area. Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results. Certification or a professional designation in a specialty area may be required or preferred depending on position requirements.
Four or more years of increasing responsibility for leadership within manufacturing operations requiring advanced project planning and team organizational skills.
Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
Thorough understanding of production technology, and/or specialty support areas including broad knowledge of business and regulatory environments and trends.
