As part of the Makerspace team, you will support the creation of practical, custom tools that enhance daily operations in maintenance and repair. Emphasis is placed on applying 3D printing technology to rapidly develop and refine solutions that address real-world challenges on the workshop floor.
Each department has unique challenges and requirements, driving the need for customized tools such as protective covers, assembly tools, and ergonomic fasteners. KLM Engine Services utilizes in-house 3D printing capabilities to redesign and manufacture tools, reducing costs and minimizing delays caused by long OEM lead times.
This internship focuses on evaluating, designing, and producing 3D-printed tools to improve operational efficiency. Key tasks include assessing the feasibility of in-house production, conducting cost analyses, and collaborating with workshop operators for effective designs.
