Collins Aerospace is on the lookout for a dynamic technical leader to spearhead our Mission System Infrastructure (MS-INF) IPT for a ACAT 1 program. As the MS-INF Chief Engineer (CE), youll be at the helm of the entire infrastructure for a major ACAT 1 program, including all compute and hardware. This IPT is designing and building cutting-edge computing, networking, storage, to support voice, video, and video teleconferencing subsystems, along with both narrowband and wideband communication subsystems.
Youll lead a talented team of multidisciplinary engineers, technicians, and project specialists, fostering collaboration among Integrated Product Teams (IPT). Your mission will be to uphold the highest standards of baseline/change management, team and system performance, and operational reliability. What You Will Do:
- The MS-INF CE will lead a team of systems, software, hardware, and specialty engineers and engineering technicians, establishing a collaborative and innovative work environment, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Establishes cost, schedule and technical metrics and leading indicators to ensure exhaustive coverage of all system components and project timelines and objectives are met.
- Manages multiple development teams designing and building cutting edge compute and network systems
- Provides regular and transparent communication to senior leaders on project status and challenges.
- Proactively identifies and assesses risks and potential issues throughout the product design and development lifecycle.
- Develops and implements effective risk mitigation strategies to safeguard project timelines and ensure timely customer deliverables.
- Defines and manages Design, Development, Integration and Test procedures, methods and guides fulfilling the needs of the IPT
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
- Prior experience designing and developing in a Model-based Systems Engineering tool suite or Digital Engineering Environment
- Prior knowledge of technical baseline management and change control . Expertise in systems engineering and open systems architectures
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Active U.S. DoD security clearance.
- NC3 domain knowledge, particularly in concepts of operations and requirements.
- Leadership and performance in both agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
- Requirements analysis and requirements decomposition for a large platform and/or complex product.
- Experience developing and building network and compute architectures
- Integration of network and computing products including hands-on configuration and management in an integration lab and/or on the delivered platform.
- Integration of airborne systems which may include hands-on testing of flight deck avionics, power generation and distribution, and/or interiors products in an integration lab and/or on the delivered platform.
- Leadership during formal Government test including ground, flight, and certification events.
- Support to product transition to manufacturing.

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
