Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Usable, Maintainable and delivered on time.
LCE consists of multiple specialty disciplines that influence the design and architecture of Raytheon products.
Our LCE resources interface directly with program leadership, technical leadership, and our customers throughout the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation.
Our engineers provide subject matter expertise in the following engineering disciplines: Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Testability, System Safety, Human Factors, and Supportability.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Principal System Safety Engineer to join us onsite in a closed area with the LCE team in McKinney, TX.
What You Will Do
As a Principal System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
An analysis of engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessing fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance.
Work with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place.
Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds
Performing System Safety Program or Design analyses
Qualifications You Must Have
Experience with: System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering.
Experience Performing System Safety Program and Design analyses
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development, Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
This position requires ability to obtain a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
