Drive Innovation in Real-Time Simulation for Pilot TrainingPDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer-Simulation (Level 3) to join our client’s cutting-edge aerospace team in Hazelwood, MO. This role supports the development and sustainment of next-generation training systems that prepare military pilots for the challenges of modern combat — including real-time 3D visualizations, radar simulations, and helmet-mounted cueing systems.
As a key contributor to the Battlespace Simulation Management (BSM) Visual Systems Software Team, you’ll lead simulation software initiatives that enhance the performance, safety, and durability of complex hardware and software systems across their full lifecycle.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
What Youll Be DoingArchitect, design, and develop advanced simulation models and virtual platforms for pilot training
Drive full lifecycle software development: from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing, and integration
Enhance real-time 3D rendering and visualization technologies (e.g., MMRS and JHMCS)
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate simulation software with physical hardware systems
Validate and refine simulation software using test data, real-world benchspans, and modeling techniques
Sustain and modernize legacy systems for new operating environments and emerging tech stacks
Document technical specifications, simulation models, and test procedures with precision and clarity
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related technical field
9+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent: PhD + 4 yrs, Master + 7 yrs)
5+ years experience in C++ (primary team language); familiarity with C or C a plus
Strong experience in both Windows and/or Linux environments
Hands-on experience with Git, Visual Studio, and modern IDEs
Demonstrated success working in agile software development environments

Pay Details: $76.15 to $95.19 per hour
