System Engineer Sr, SPACE - Clearance Required

We are seeking a System Engineer to participate in the design, development, test and maintenance of complex mission application software and database applications supporting multiple programs within National Security Space (NSS). Looking for someone who is (or is willing to become) a Domain/Subject Matter Expert in the Mission Management domain.

As a System Engineer you will:
• Perform system analysis and interface definition
• Participate in studies and system trades for enhanced capabilities
• Define mathematics based critical methods for new capabilities and applications
• Convert Interface Control Document (ICD) descriptions into algorithms
• Develop software prototype models of algorithms
• Perform data analysis, test planning and execution
• Participate in and coordinate design reviews and technical product reviews
• Participate in failure investigations, anomaly resolution activities, and retrospective events
• Work closely with other system and software engineers on the team to aid in the development and testing of application software

This is an EARLY-MID CAREER (level 3) ROLE where candidates typically require 5+ years of professional experience and a BS degree or 3 years and a MS or above.

An active TS/SCI security clearance is required PRIOR to start.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with system/sub-system modeling
• Experience using math and modeling tools for rapid prototyping, algorithm development, and visualization (e.g. Matlab, STK)
• An aptitude for math and physics including vector and matrix algebra
• Experience with system integration, test, and requirements validation & verification
• Experience with test planning and execution with an understanding of interdependencies
Desired Skills:
• Domain knowledge of spacecraft subsystems, maneuvers, and mission planning & scheduling
• Agile software development experience (SAFe, Kanban, Scrum)
• Experience with trad studies and cost estimation based on high level requirements and specifications
• Ability to utilize scripting languages (Python, Shell)

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
