Role overview
We’re seeking a world-class CFO/VP of Finance to lead all financial operations and transformation initiatives at Jetvia. This executive will bring strong systems thinking, hands-on leadership, and the ability to drive structure across a fast-moving aviation operation. From building out FP&A to preparing the company for its first audit, the CFO/VP of Finance will be instrumental in building a scalable finance function from the ground up.
Key responsibilities
Infrastructure & System Modernization
- Lead the modernization and transformation from Quickbooks desktop to a modern ERP like Netsuite.
- Audit and modernize banking infrastructure, including removing legacy access and introducing more secure controls.
- Roll out company wide-cost management via Ramp to bring clarity and discipline to credit card usage and approvals.
Financial Planning & Visibility
- Build out a cash forecasting system to better handle major expenses like debt payments, parts orders for aircraft, and other capital investments.
- Establish and oversee a lightweight but strategic FP&A function for forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning.
- Provide regular reporting to leadership, including dashboards, burn rate monitoring, and working capital analyses.
Accounting & Reporting Readiness
- Prepare the company for its first audit by improving accounting hygiene and documentation in a thoughtful, phased manner.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly closes, account reconciliations, and financial statement production.
Policy, Controls & Governance
- Partner with EVP to set up financial procedures for spending, procurement, and department-level cost controls.
- Improve accountability across teams with systems that clarify ownership of budget items and approvals.
Strategic Leadership & Team Building
- Partner with the EVP, CEO and ownership group on long-term financial planning, capital allocation, and investment decisions – including the path to our Series B fundraise.
- Act as a bridge between operators and investors, helping translate numbers into insights and strategy.
- Lead a small team of 4, including bookkeeper, controller, and accountants.
Ideal candidate profile
- 10+ years of finance experience, with a blend of strategic leadership and operational execution.
- Track record of building or overhauling financial systems (experience with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or similar platforms preferred).
- Deep expertise in cash forecasting, working capital management, and cost control.
- Familiar with audit preparation, even in companies that have not historically had formal audit practices.
- Comfortable in founder-led environments and excited by fast-paced, hands-on work.
- CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
