Contract Position
Pay Estimated: $15.57-$20.57/Hour

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a mix of manual and clerical shipping duties, including packaging, carrier selection, routing, and documentation for outgoing shipments.
- Use enterprise computer systems to route, track, and process shipments.
- Determine appropriate packaging materials and cushioning based on item type and classification.
- Verify shipment quantities, weights, and compliance with identification and labeling standards.
- Prepare bills of lading and post shipping charges; ensure merchandise is routed correctly to destination.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, planners, material managers, and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate and prioritize daily shipping activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in setting team goals and participate in team meetings.
- Handle and process classified materials in accordance with security procedures.
- Operate forklifts or other powered industrial equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract obligations.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant shipping or logistics experience.
- Ability to lift heavy items and operate a forklift or powered industrial vehicle.
- Knowledge of standard shipping procedures, including proper handling of classified materials.
- Proficiency with shipping documentation, routing, and general computer systems.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement practices and team-based work environments.
- Certification in shipping or material handling preferred.
