Role Overview
The Aviation Maintenance Instructor is a new position for Ranken’s Aviation Maintenance Program located in Perryville, Missouri. We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team and assist in building the foundation of our FAA Part 147 school. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation maintenance that allows him/her to teach and mentor our students effectively.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive maintenance curriculum and courses that meet FAA regulations and industry standards under Part 147.
- Provide assessment, tracking of student attendance, and documenting records of students' progress throughout the program.
- Create engaging lesson plans, presentations, and hands-on activities to facilitate student learning.
- Provide one-on-one guidance and support to students to ensure their success in the program
- Foster a positive and collaborative learning environment that promotes engagement and retention
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in aviation maintenance technology.
- Participate in curriculum development and program improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as determined by the education administrator.
Qualifications
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic certificate required.
- FAA Inspection Authorization certificate required.
- 5+ years of experience in the field on a variety of aircraft types.
- Education: An earned degree in an aviation related field preferred but not required.
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred but not required.
- Exhibit professionalism, be well-organized and self-directed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to relate to and interact with people at all levels of the organization.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and best practices in aviation maintenance.
- Ability to teach and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Proficient Microsoft Office computer skills.
