Promote a Safety and Health Program to prevent injuries and illnesses from work-related causes and minimize losses of material resources and interruptions from accidental occurrences. The program is directed toward the control of all types of hazards encountered in the performance of on-the-job duties.
Safety & Health Awareness: Oversee the distribution of reads, signs, bulletins, and posters for each location and discuss new procedures with station personnel.
Accident Prevention: Perform safety audits on-ramp operations and provide feedback to management. Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law, WFS, and airline policies—issue safety warnings/tickets as preventable measures.
Safety Monitoring: Lead safety committee meetings and provide feedback to management. Review station audits, review station incidents/accidents/injuries, review station statistics to determine areas of improvement, stimulate hourly personnel involvement in the safety culture, and distribute safety awards as established in company guidelines, accident/Incident Reporting, Investigation, & Analysis, assist with all incident/accident/injury reports.
Quality: Work with ramp management to ensure the station delivers services as contracted by tracking and reporting client and WFS SLAs. Investigate and review any service failures.
Work with the GM and Regional Director to ensure all reports are followed up with corrective action to prevent recurrence. Work with the training department to identify deficiencies in safety and OJT training. Identify system deficiencies in new hires and OJT training through audits. Establish procedures for follow-up training due to incidents/accidents.
