Role Introduction
Reports to: Assistant Manager Galley Loading Planning
The position will provide support to galley packing and loading specifications, including space, ratios, standard and safety for both passenger and freighter aircraft. He/she will assist to communicate requirements to caterers and various sections or departments concerned. He/she will support setting and controlling galley packing standards and specifications including space and weight for all aircraft types to ensure they are in line with the agreed service concepts and standards. He/she should ensure accurate and timely communication of galley packing instructions to caterers and all parties concerned to warrant an overall smooth operations. At the same time, complying with all local and international regulatory and operational health and safety requirements. The role will assist to provide galley pantry weight to Engineering and Flight Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and adjust galley packing diagrams and associated parts data to reflect menu updates, flights and routes
- Assist caterers to deal with questions or solve issues on galley packing
- Assist to create, analyse and assign galley packing change requests
- Conduct galley planning and space studying for new product and service development
- Responsible for calculating and deliver galley pantry weight (passenger and freighter) to Engineering, Flight Operations, Airport Service Delivery and Cargo through Catering Planner
- Assist to standardise stowage location and loadings
- Provide support to maintain custom forms
- Assist to develop contingency galley packing plan for ad-hoc flight operations
- Assist to review and answer crew feedback, passengers feedback, and management enquires
- Provide support during catering disruption
- Provide support to AM &/or Senior Special of Galley Loading Planning on projects when required
- Provide support to Catering Operations Supply Chain & Inventory Management Manager on project when required
- Lead improvement projects and identify areas for galley space/cost improvement when necessary
- Liaise and work with relevant departments for continuous process improvement. Identify any potential areas for process/automation improvements to streamline the work process whenever possible
- Follow all reasonable instructions as directed by team manager/Head of Culinary Excellence
- Perform cross functional tasks in line with your role level after sufficient training if and when required
Requirements
- Tertiary education and above in Business Administration, Hotel and Catering or relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years working experience in airline, airline catering operations or related industry.
- Knowledge of SAP will be advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience in airline business, process and procedure of Inflight catering operation or galley loading experience will be advantage.
- Excellent teamwork, Interpersonal, communication skills and self-motivated.
- Good command of English and Chinese proficiency
- Good analytical and planning skills.
- PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Good communication skills and be able to work independently
