Job Description:

AFO is looking for a Deputy Project Manager to work at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!

In support of PM, perform a variety of project management functions, including estimation and tracking of project costs and develop project schedules; requirements analysis, risk management, change management, problem-solving, process improvement and tracking performance issues and document lessons learned. Also, develop an acquisition strategy outline, including high-level goals and objectives. Provide project management and planning documentation to summarize progress and issues of portfolios, specific programs, and individual projects as they progress and the aggregate set of projects within an assigned task area and shall develop, monitor, and report on related metrics to include internal management controls.


Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day activities for a moderately complex Technical or non-technical project.
  • Manages the administrative/operational leadership of a project within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
  • Monitors project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
  • Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
  • May conduct performance/project analyses to benefit future/other projects/missions/programs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the fields concepts and principles.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.
  • Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies.
  • Provides technical assessment reports or collect technical documentation from various project leads to summarize progress of emerging technology projects during different project phases to include planning, research, prototype demonstration, pilot, and transition.
  • Works with the Government project lead in aggregating technical data for both continuing reports and in response to ad hoc requests for information.
  • Evaluates emerging projects to ensure that key considerations have been adequately planned for and that relevance guidance has been complied.
  • Assists the government project lead with developing, monitoring, and reporting on program metrics to include internal management controls and shall work with the Government in tracking actions related to a variety of projects actions as necessary, providing status reports.

Qualifications

  • 5+ Years providing project management managing projects throughout entire lifecycle to include planning, research, prototype demonstration, pilot, and transition.
  • 2+ years creating and managing Project Work Breakdown Structures.
  • 2+ years creating and managing Integrated Master Schedules for various projects.
