Job Description:
Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Design Organisation Approval (DOA) Manager (f/m) to join our Design Management System Team based in Marignane, France.
You will be part of a team managing the Design Assurance System in compliance with airworthiness regulations. As part of the Design Management System Team, you will be involved in all necessary activities acting as interface with the Airworthiness Authorities aiming at obtaining, managing and maintaining the Design Organisation Approvals (both civil and military) of Airbus Helicopters.

Your challenges:
Manage design organisation approvals, maintaining the existing ones, obtaining new ones and extending the existing ones including new privileges and/or products
Interface with Airworthiness Authorities (DOA related) for all activities regarding the management of the design organisation approvals
Establish and keep up-to-date the Design Organisation Manuals
Lead process for demonstrating DOA compliance to the Airworthiness Authorities of the design organisation manuals, including evaluation and approval management with the Airworthiness Authorities of the changes to the design organisation manuals
Ensure that compliance check lists are established and maintained in compliance with the design assurance system, and that these ones, together with the associated procedures, methods and tools, demonstrate compliance with the applicable Airworthiness Authorities regulations
Ensure that DOA procedures approved baseline for each design organisation approval is accurate and available for the design organisation
Manage assessment of design assurance system’s procedures to ensure DOA compliance (under the responsibility of the process / procedures owners)
Own processes and procedures related to the design assurance system linked to compliance with airworthiness, environmental protection and operational suitability data requirements under Product Integrity
Lead the discussions with the Airworthiness Authorities to achieve the agreement of processes and procedures related the design assurance system, with special focus on those linked to compliance with airworthiness, environmental protection and operational suitability data requirements
Manage interfaces with other Design or Production Organisation Approval Holders
Support Design Supplier Control Managers (DSCM) in defining design organisation and process requirements applicable to DOA Suppliers
Support DSCM for the qualification and surveillance phase of DOA Suppliers for both existing and new programmes or work packages
Manage Significant Changes to DOA from the application until their acceptance by the Airworthiness Authorities, including their implementation and deployment within the design assurance system
Provide DOA expertise support to the overall design organisation
Support Product Integrity domains as DOA expert upon request
Support Airbus Helicopters programmes engineering bidding process for those aspects DOA related
Support the implementation of a Safety Management System (SMS) in the Airbus Helicopters Design Organization
Represent Airbus Helicopters in the rule-making relevant to DOA matters by developing, promoting and implementing strategies and concepts, in Airbus Helicopters interest, within international DOA activities
Cascade the changes on the regulations for DOA related aspects, launch them into the design organisation and contribute for all DOA management activities and support design organisation as DOA expert
Contribute, as DOA expert, upon request from the management, to specific tasks or projects and provide expertise support in those aspects related to DOA matters to the design organisation, both internally and externally including DOA suppliers
Managing the cascade of the design organisation authorizations (CQE, CVE, DAE, …)
Support AH Training Academy in meeting the needs DOA training across the design organization
Your profile:
University degree in Aeronautical Engineering
Minimum 10 years professional experience in aviation design organisation or in aircraft certification activities
Technical expertise in aviation regulations, especially EASA Part21J
Proven experience in Design and /or Airworthiness functions, including interface with the Airworthiness Authorities
Extensive knowledge of the process landscape in aircraft development and deep understanding of company processes
Experience in managing a trans-functional and trans-national project
Very good command of both written and spoken English
