The Operations and Supplier Quality team works to ensure quality standards are maintained on the built and supplied hardware used in our Products. Receiving and Shipping inspection plays an important role in this process by providing quality validation of material flowing into and out of our Raytheon facility. This is a job in a dynamic environment where you will build strong networks and gain competencies with many Raytheon tools and processes.
As a Quality Lead on our team, you will support and enhance receiving and shipping inspection processes. You will actively engage with material issues and mentor other quality engineers as they work alongside you. These efforts will involve partnering with unionized hourly inspectors and utilizing root cause and corrective action (RCCA) tools to troubleshoot process issues and to resolve nonconforming material holds. Additional activities will involve the generation and monitoring of metrics and key performance data from our SAP and PDM systems. Our Quality Lead will drive projects related to metrics, standard work, and process improvement. Strong collaboration skills are for needed for stakeholder engagements across distributed teams, functional groups, and Programs in various lifecycles of development. You will work closely with subject matter experts in supply chain, quality, logistics, production control, and engineering.
What You Will Do
Utilize problem solving skills to lead root cause and corrective action efforts to resolve nonconforming material issues
Leverage familiarity with inspection processes and Raytheon procedures to assure consistency and continuity of receiving inspection activities
Collaborate with critical Program and functional stakeholders to ensure effective and timely solutions to material and process problems
Perform data collection across numerous digital systems and use collected data to perform data analysis
Engage with hourly inspectors in support of quality inspection of supplied material
Develop process ownership of key processes
Use standard work, process improvement, and metrics to drive change
Support material validations including dimensional measurements and Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), XRF testing to validate finishes on electrical components, shelf-life material management, First Article Inspection and Validation (FAI/FAV), and serialized Hardware Configuration control
Implement hardware control mechanisms to support ship-at-risk and build-at-risk processes across Raytheon sites
This is a first shift position within our team and will be onsite at our Rita Road facility in Tucson, Arizona. Travel requirements will be minimal.

Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
Experience leading and performing Root Cause and Corrective Action efforts to drive resolution

Qualifications We Prefer
University Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
Knowledge of serialized hardware configuration, shelf life, x-ray fluorescence (XRF), dimensional measurements and GD&T, first article validation, and Quality Note and requirement flow down
Experience with Quality and Inspection Processes, AS9100, and methods of hardware control
Familiarity with SAP and Product Data Management (PDM) systems for data collection, metrics, and analysis
Experience leading a team of inspectors and/or quality engineers
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
Experience working in the Aerospace and Defense industry

Clearance Information:
This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
