Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Manager (Level M) to join our dynamic team in Kent, Washington, Chantilly, Virginia, El Segundo and Seal Beach, California.
Boeing Ground Systems and Intelligence Business Area, as part of Space Mission Systems, is looking for a Program Manager to assume leadership of the Daybreak program. The Daybreak program is a long term program developing and supporting a domain specific mission processing capability for a proprietary customer. The program encompasses approximately 40 Boeing and major subcontractor personnel of software developers and algorithmic scientists supporting this mission area.
The selected candidate will manage employees performing business management activities in the area of Program Management. Candidate will develop, maintain and execute integrated schedules, organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives. They selected candidate will interface with capability leaders to acquire resources for organizational activities. Candidate will provides technical management of suppliers. Candidate will identify and lead process improvements. Candidate will develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Candidate will provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Candidate will generate weekly and monthly reports and oversee generation of month financial CDRL reporting.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manages employees and mid-level managers performing business management activities in the area of Program Management
- Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
- Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
- Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position is for 1st shift.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- More than 5 years of experience in a leadership role (i.e., manager, project manager, team lead, etc.)?
- More than 3 years of experience in Program Management or IPT Leadership including cost, schedule and technical management
- Experience working with software development, technical architecture or working with or managing enabling capabilities
- Must have TS SCI, TS SCI w/CI Poly or TS SCI w/FS Poly
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- More than 5 years of experience in Satellite or Space Programs
- More than 5 years of experience in implementation of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) requirements
- More than 5 years of experience working with U.S. Government customers
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years related work experience, Master+12 years related work experience, 18 years related work experience, etc.)
