Boeing Product Security Software is seeking a Capability Manager to lead a team of Product Security Engineers (PSEs) which will engage with software efforts across the enterprise, including Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Boeing Global Services (BGS), and Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) with an initial focus on key programs within Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SIWS), Cabin & Network Systems (CNS), and Boeing Software Factory (BSF). You will work with Enterprise, Business Unit, Division, and program leadership to establish key demand areas. You establish an operational rhythm with these key demand areas to assess their business needs. You will organize teams and individuals to define and execute discrete statements of work to deploy services, and technical excellence to specific projects. During these activities, you will serve existing business needs, and help to win new business through a repeated pattern of Software Assurance technical excellence.
The PSE Software Security team has an immediate opportunity for an energetic, versatile, and highly-collaborative Manager to help grow and strengthen the Secure Software Development Lifecycle across Boeing including projects in Seattle, WA; St Louis, MO; Washington, DC; and El Segundo, CA. This team will actively shape the adoption of secure development practices with program software factories, as well as the attestation, certification, and security of software products across Business Units.
The selected individual will need to be an individual who is a self-starter, great communication skills, and can manage a multitude of tasks. The Manager will work closely and collaborate with executive leadership, functional teams, software engineering, and a variety of Platforms.
Position Responsibilities:
- Grow and Develop the workforce through training, engagement, mentorship, promotions, stretch assignments, and meaningful work
- Foster productive and two-way relationships with Product Security and Software Engineering division and program leads
- Managing and elevating project Risks, Issues, and Opportunities (RIOs)
- Overall leadership of the PSE Software Engagement teams via career development, skill forecasting, and staffing
Develop software security engagement plans aligned to divisional priorities
Overseeing the execution of engagement plans to ensure business, technical, and customer requirements are achieved
Review execution plans, making appropriate adjustments, and resolving issues
Build, develop, and deploy an empowered workforce and talent pipeline through staffing, career assignments, promotions, skill development, and talent management
Ensure technical excellence by developing teammates, providing mentorship and instilling a culture of accountability and bias for action
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
- 2+ years of engineering leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
CISSP or equivalent certification
- Software Development Background, or other experience with DevSecOps CI/CD Pipelines
Knowledge of Secure Software Development Framework (NIST SP 800-218), or CISA Self-Attestation Common Form
General knowledge of DoD, NASA and FAA security requirements related to Product Security
3+ years of experience in the field of product security, anti-tamper and/or secure computing
Understanding DoD contracting, developing proposals, and the Boeing estimating process
Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to meet aggressive schedule

Summary pay range: $154,700 – $224,250
