Pratt & Whitney Puerto Rico has an exciting new opportunity for a Data Scientist.
This is a remote work opportunity but the selected candidate must reside in Puerto Rico.
What You Will Do:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual contributor to help us solve complex problems. This role is within the Enterprise Analytics and will push technology boundaries and drive innovation by providing product ownership and technical expertise in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment.
This position will provide the unique opportunity to operate within multiple data science domains (including LLMs) in a startup-like environment within a Fortune 50 company. Together we aim to achieve new levels of productivity by changing the way we work and identifying new sources of growth for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in a multidisciplinary team of Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Engineers, and Software Developers.
- Incorporate newly developed technologies and algorithms into reusable components that can be distributed across the enterprise.
- Build, test, and deploy Machine Learning models to drive business value
Communicate with business unit stakeholders to understand challenges and opportunities.
- Apply data science and software engineering best practices.
- Facilitate the timely delivery of software through continuous improvement.
- Participate in a culture of curiosity and continuous learning.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, with 5+ years of relevant experience OR an advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to systems supported.
- 4+ years of experience with statistics / analytics / data science / machine learning.
- Experience writing production-grade code (Python, R, SQL, etc.).
- Experience with data pipelines: ETL, feature engineering, dimensionality reduction, model deployment.
- Experience partnering across multiple disciplines to achieve strategic objectives.
- Experience managing stakeholder expectations in milestone-driven schedules.
- Some experience with Databricks, S3, Spark EMR, SageMaker, Azure AI.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience/exposure to Graph Neural Networks.
- Excellent collaboration skills in hybrid / remote environments.
- Excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills.
- Flexible personality to work well in rapidly evolving org / team models.
