Job Description:
The Asheville Shipping/Receiving II role will be responsible for handling all aspects of the shipping & receiving for the Asheville CMC facility, including but not limited to shipping parts to customer, OSP supplier and receiving raw material and hardware. The Shipping/Receiving II role will also be responsible to keep accurate records and complete visual inspections of parts, hardware, and raw material. Role is responsible for following proper inspection and shipment procedures to ensure customer specifications and aerospace standards are met. Participates as a team member to identify and implement process improvement opportunities that focus on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Follow all safety and EHS policies and procedures
  • Follow all GE and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to pass eyesight acuity requirements and color vision perception test
  • Prior experience with Shipping/Receiving processes and procedures
  • Ability to obtain DSQR certification within 18 months
  • Ability to obtain PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) License
  • Proficiency with computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, shop floor applications, etc.)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow process operation sheets, quality specifications, blueprints, and associated quality documents.
  • Utilizes precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and go/no go gages, etc. to measure physical dimensions and accurately record the data.
  • Perform visual inspection for incoming/outgoing hardware and parts, as well as prepare shippers and process receipt of PO and completion of R/I Inspection.
  • Successfully complete the Characteristics Verification Process (CVP) for shipping/receiving.
  • Understand part process flow (incoming/outgoing) and flexibility to meet critical business shipments.
  • Create NCR (Non-Conformance Record) when non-conformance is identified and work with support team as needed.
  • Prepare packages and shipping documents (ex. eManifest, BOL, Fed Ex shipping Manager), notify carriers of pickup, as well as coordinate courier shipments when needed.
  • Ability to perform DSQR duties as a backup
  • Perform tasks that require manual dexterity (ability to use both hands as required: inspection, etc.).
  • Complete all required training on time (ex. EHS, compliance, HR related, job specific, Lean, etc.).
  • Escalate safety concerns and willingness to participate in resolving the concern.
  • Actively participate in daily team meetings/activities, cooperate/relate well with others, practice direct/professional communication in all interactions, considers opinions different from their own, maintain an excellent attendance record, and work to understand the needs of their team, facility, and customer.
  • Be an active contributing member of a high-performance work team focused on problem solving and process improvement.
  • Ability to work overtime (OT) and flex schedule as needed to meet business needs.

Hours: Monday through Friday from 12:45pm to 9:00pm EST

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
